Lorrena D. Black

Lorrena D. Black is Vice President of Leadership Development for Inforum, a Michigan-based nonprofit focused on accelerating the careers of women and boosting talent initiatives for companies. In this position, Lorrena oversees the strategic direction, delivery and sales of all Inforum leadership development programs ensuring that the program portfolio is relevant, in demand, effective, and sustainable.

From 1997-2018 Lorrena served honorably as an active-duty service member in the United States Army. She joined the Army as a Private and worked her way up to Sergeant First Class. In 2009 Lorrena was accepted in the Green to Gold Active-Duty Option program, and in 2011 earned her commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Signal Corps. Lorrena continues to serve in the Army Reserves and was recently promoted to Major.

A wife and mother to four teens, Lorrena is passionate about her family, and serving her community and fellow veterans. She serves on the boards of two Detroit-based nonprofits: Emmanuel House Recovery Center homeless veterans treatment shelter and CATCH Charity for Children.

Lorrena earned a B.A.S in Resource and Technology Management from Troy University in Alabama and a Master’s in Management and Leadership from Webster University in Missouri. She is a certified Emotional & Social Competency Inventory Practitioner and is currently seeking certification through Co-Active Training Institute’s Professional Coach Training program.
